Let p = Pam's age now. Write an expression to represent George's age.
g = 3(p+1) - 3
Then simplify the expression.
g = 3p + 3 - 3
g = 3p
If George is 42 years old now, how old will Pam be next year?
42 = 3p
p - 42/3
p = 14 yrs now
how old will Pam be next year?
14 + 1 = 15 yrs old next yr
