son's age now=x
father's age now=2x
[2x-20/x-20]=6
2x-20=6x-120, multiplying both sides by (x-20), and distributing 6 over that.
Then subtract 2x from both sides and add 120 to both sides.
4x=100
x=25
Son is 25
Father is 50 ANSWER.
20 years ago, father was 30, son was 5.
