a = the 10's digit
b = the units
then
10a+b = your age
:

b - a = 4
" and the mean of the digits is 6."
= 6
multiply both sides by 2
a + b = 12

Use elimination with these two equations
a + b = 12
-a + b = 4
--------------addition eliminates a, find b
2b = 16
b = 16/2
