w = 2s
28 years ago, William was 9 times as old as Stephanie.
w - 28 = 9(s - 28)
w - 28 = 9s - 252
w = 9s - 252 + 28
w = 9s - 224
Replace w with 2s (from the first statement)
2s = 9s - 224
224 = 9s - 2s
224 = 7s
s = 224/7
s = 32 yrs is Stephanie's age
then
2(32) = 64 yrs is Will's age
