"The sum of Robin's age and Bruno's age is 45. 7 yrs. ago, Robin was 16 yrs. more than 1/2 as old as Bruno was then. How old is Bruno?"
I tried answering this but I always arrive with negative numbers or 70.4 or 2 or 4. It's so wrong I really need your help! :( How do you solve these kind of questions? It really confuses me.
Let Bruno's current age, be B
Then Robin's current age is: 45 - B
Seven years ago, Bruno was B - 7, while Robin was: 45 - B - 7, or 38 - B
Thus, based on one of the above clues, we get: ---- I hope you understand this equation!!
76 - 2B = B - 7 + 32 ------- Multiplying by LCD, 2
76 - 2B = B + 25
- 2B - B = 25 - 76
- 3B = - 51
B, or Bruno's current age is = , or
You can do the check!!
