Question 891800: A girl walks 1.25 miles a hour and to get to her destination it takes 1 hour and 30 mins. What if she goes 10 miles a hour?
Answer by LinnW(1048) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The distance traveled is 1.25*(1.5 hours) = 1.875 miles
Since distance = rate x time,
at 10 miles per hour,
1.875 = 10 x time
divide each side by 10
0.1875 = time in hours
0.1875 * 60 = 11.25 minutes
