Hi,

David has two brothers. One brother is two years younger than him 

and the other is five years older than him.

a) Let david be x years old. Sum of their ages:  x + (x-2) + (x+5)

b) x + (x-2) + (x+5) = 39

      3x +3 = 39

          3x = 36

           x = 12

c) What are their ages?  David is 12. Brothers are 10 and 17
