A mother and her daughter total 66 years. Two years ago, the mother was 5 more than twice her daughters age. Find the mothers age now.

Equations:
m + d = 66
m-2 = 2(d-2)+5
--------
m-2 = 2d +1
------
m -2d = 3
m + d = 66
-------------------
Subtract and solve for "d":
3d = 33
d = 11 yrs (daughter's age now)

Solve for "m":
m + 11 = 66
m = 55 yrs (mother's age now)
