Jess walked for 45 minutes at 3 km/h and then ran for half an hour at x km/h.
At the end of that point she was 6 km from the starting point.
Find the value of x.
:
Change 45 min to .75 hrs
:
Write a distance equation, dist = speed * time
3(.75) + .5x = 6
2.25 + .5x = 6
.5x = 6 - 2.25
.5x = 3.75
x = 3.75/.5
x = 7.5 km/hr
