Dave = x. Dave's dad = 3x. for the first sentence.
But that's all I get. I don't know where to go from there. Please help.

What you've done is good.

Now to find how old Dave will be in 10 years, you just 
add 10 to his age now, which is x, and you get x+10.

To find out how old his father will be in 10 years,
you just add 10 to his age now, which is 3x and you
get 3x+10.

So the father's age in 10 years = 2 times Dave's age in 10 years.

                 3x + 10 = 2(x + 10)

Can you solve that?  Dave is 10 and his father is 30.
