Let bev age be y
raquel is now 3 years older than bev
x = y + 3
Rewriting the above equation
x - y = 3 -----------------------eq. 1

In 5 years the sum of their ages will be 79
In 5 years
raquel's age will be x + 5
bev's age will be y + 5

the sum of their ages will be 79
x + 5 + y + 5 = 79
x + y + 10 = 79
x + y = 69 ----------------------------eq.2

Solving the 2 equations(Add the 2 equations)
x - y = 3
x + y = 69

2x = 72
x = 72/2 = 36

Raquel's age is 36
Bev's age is 33
