Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Jack is 4 times as old as Lacy
J = 4L
6 years from now the sum of their ages will be 87.
J + 6 + L + 6 = 87
Replace J with 4L from 1st equation
4L + 6 + L + 6 = 87
Collect like terms.
4L + L = 87 - 12
5L = 75
L = 15
Current ages:
Lacy = 15 years old
Jack = 60 years old.
Hope this helps.
