Average of n values is nothing but the sum of the n values divided by n.

Therefore, if the average of n values is A, the sum of the n values nothing but

n*A.



Average age of 10 people is 35.

Therefore, the total age of the 10 people is = 35*10 = 350.

(Note that you don't really need to know the age of each person to solve this

problem - since you know the average)

After the 11th person enters, total age = total age of the 10 people + age of the

11th person = 350 + 32 = 382.

Now the room has 11 people with a total age of 382. 

So the new average age is
