12 years ago: father was 36 and son was 12
What equation do i use please?

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let son's age =x
father's age = 2x
12 years ago
(2x-12)= 3(x-12)
2x-12=3x-36
2x-3x=-36+12
-x=-24
x= 24
