Let Fred's current age be F and Ginger's current age be G.
F - 9 = 3(G - 9)
F + 6 = 2(G + 6)
3G - 27 + 15 = 2G + 12
3G - 12 = 2G + 12
G = 24
F = 3(24 - 9) + 9 = 54
