H + 350 = 5N - 1750
H + 350 = 5(2700-H) - 1750
H + 350 = 13500 - 5H - 1750

6H = 11400
H = 1900
...
N = 2700 - H = 2700 - 1900 = 800

Since Gary had $N before transfer, then Henry had $(2,700 � N)
After Gary gives Henry $350, Gary will have N � 350, and Henry will have 2,700 � N + 350, or 3,050 � N
Since after the transfer, Henry will have 5 times as much money as Gary, then 3,050 � N = 5(N � 350) ------ 3,050 � N = 5N � 1,750
- N � 5N = - 1,750 � 3,050
� 6N = - 4,800

N, or original amount Gary had before the transfer = , or $
