Let the age of Jack be n + 11
Let the age of Priscilla be n
Therefore:
n + 11 + n = 153
Combine like terms:
n + n = 2n
2n + 11 = 153
Subtract 11 from each side of the equation.
2n + 11 - 11 = 153 - 11
Combine like terms:
11 - 11 = 0
153 - 11 = 142
2n = 142
Divide each side by 2
2n/2 = 142/2
n = 71
n + 11 = 71 + 11 = 82
Therefore:
Priscilla is 71 years old and
Jack is 82 years old
