Let x=Linda's age
Then x+11=Steve's age
Now we are told that:
x+x+11=113 subtract 11 from each side
x+x+11-11=113-11 collect like terms
2x=102 divide both sides by 2
x=51 years old------------------Lindas age
x+11=51+11=62 years old----Steve's age
