let x be your daughter's age now.
today you are 4 times your daughter's age.
that means you are 4*x years old.
7 years ago, you were 11 times her age.
7 years ago you were 4*x - 7 years old.
7 years ago, your daughter was x-7 years old.
you were then 11 times her age which means that:
4*x - 7 = 11*(x-7)
solve this equation to get the value of x.
4x - 7 = 11*(x-7)
simplify to get:
4x - 7 = 11x - 77
add 7 to both sides of this equation to get:
4x = 11x - 77 + 7 which simplifies to:
4x = 11x - 70
subtract 11x from both sides of this equation to get:
4x - 11x = -70 which simplifies to:
-7x = -70
divide both sides of this equation by -7 to get:
x = 10
since x is your daughter's age today, she is now 10 years old.
you are 4 times her age so you are 40.
7 years ago you were 33.
7 years ago she was 3
33 is 11 * 3
the value of x is good.
your aqe is now 40.

4 times my daughters age... today 

7 years earlier i was 11 times her age

Question states*** 7 years earlier...

 mother

   4x  -7 = 11(x-7)

       70 = 7x

        x = 10, daughters age now.  Mother is 40

and
