Question 624458: A man leaves Manila for Bicol in his car, averaging 75 kph. One hour later, another car leaves for bicol. Following the same route at 85 kph. How long would it take the second car to overtake the first car?
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The first car is 75 km ahead when the second car starts. Then the second
car gains on the first car at a rate of 85 kph - 75 kph = 10 kph. So it
will take him 75/10 or 7.5 hours to catch up the 75 mile head start at only 10 kph.
