Question 624439: what is the answer in this question: Jose is 27 years older than his son. 10 years from now he will be twice as old as his son. How old is each now?
Answer by vleith(2983)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let J be Jose's age today and s be his son's age today. You are told

Now you can substitute in the value for J in the first equation at the top into this last one
now solve for s

so his son is 17 today
Which makes Jose 17+27 = 44
Check your answer based on what their ages will be in 10 years.
Is 54 = 2*27
