When dealing with age problems set up a table of ages at the different times described.

Aji: Now = 16p, 10 years from now = 16p + 10

Daughter: Now = 8p, 10 years from now = 8p + 10

The sum of their ages 10 years from now is 16p + 10 + 8p + 10 = 24p + 20.
