Question 590800: Solve the variation problem
The value of a car usually varies inversely with its age. If a car is worth $8,000 when it is 2 years old, how much will it be worth when it is 8 years old?

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let V = value, A = age

V = k/A

8000 = k/2

8000*2 = k

16000 = k

k = 16000

-------------------------------------------------------
V = k/A

V = 16000/A

V = 16000/8

V = 2000

So it will be worth $2,000 when it is 8 years old.
