You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = your age and c = chad's age (both current ages)


So if "In three years, Chad will be three times my present age", then c%2B3=3x. Solve for c to get c=3x-3


"I will then be half as old as he" means that x%2B3=%28c%2B3%29%2F2


x%2B3=%28c%2B3%29%2F2

x%2B3=%283x-3%2B3%29%2F2

x%2B3=%283x%29%2F2

2%28x%2B3%29=3x

2x%2B6=3x

6=3x-2x

6=x

x=6

c=3x-3=3%286%29-3=18-3=15

So you are currently 6 years old and Chad is currently 15 years old.
