Call number of boys = b.

If there were 811 more boys than girls, then call the number of girls b-811.

There were 2481 fewer adults than girls (b-811), so call the number of adults b-811-2481.

The sum of all of these is 10483.

Add the b's and the numbers.

Add 4103 to each side.

Divide both sides by 3.

There are 4862 boys.

There are b-811 = 4862-811 = 4051 girls.

There are b-811-2481 = 4862-811-2481 = 1570 adults.

4862+4051+1570=10483.
