Granddaughter present age = d

Grand father is 10 times older than his granddaughter.
g=10d.........(1)
He is also 54 older than her
g=d+54..........(2)
Subtitute the value of g from (1) to (2)
10d=d+54
10d-d=54
9d=54
9d/9=54/9
d=6
Subtitute the value of d in (1)
g=10d
g=(10)(6)
g=60
Grandfather's present age = g = 60 years old
Granddaughter present age = d = 6 years old
