Write an equation for the statement:
"2 years ago, Jamie was half a she will be 9 years from now."
j - 2 = (j+9)
multiply both sides by 2
2(j - 2) = j + 9
2j - 4 = j + 9
2j - j = 9 + 4
j = 13 yrs is the present age
