represent the father's age. Then
was Chris' age a year ago and
represents the father's age a year ago.
Solve by substitution
Hmmm, interesting. When Chris is 2 years old, his father is 4 years old. His father was 2 years old when Chris was born. Makes sense if Chris and his father are dogs.
