Let R be Rizza's age, N be Norie's age
R = 2N +1
(R-8) + (N-8) = R + 10
Lets solve for N in 2nd equation
Subtract R on both sides, they cancel
-8 +N -8 = 10
Combine like terms
N -16 = 10
Add 16 on both sides
N = 26
Substitute into 1st equation to solve for R
R = 2(26) + 1
R = 52 + 1
R = 53
