I am three times as old as my son. Five years later I shall be two and a half times as old as my son. What is my age?
..
let x=present age of father
x/3=present age of son
5 years from now
father's age=x+5
son's age=x/3 + 5
(x+5)/(x/3 +5)=5/2
2x+10=5x/3+25
6x+30=5x+75
x=75-30=45
ans:
Present age of father=45 years
