Question 457446: In his pocket a boy has 3 red marbles, 4 blue marbles and 4 green marbles. How many will he have to take out of his pocket to ensure that he has taken out at least one of each color.

5. If he takes out only 4 he might have all blues or all greens.
But if he takes out 5, he cannot have all reds, all blues or
all greens, since there aren't enough of any color to have 5
of the same color.
