I suspect that the problem is not as the teacher gave it.
As the question is written the answer is 120 ft. from the head to the tree.
But I suspect you really want to know how far the head is from the top of the tree.
In that case, you will have a multiple of the classic 5,12,13 right triangle.
In this case a 50, 120, 130 right triangle where 130 is the hypotenuse.
So the answer is 130 feet from the top of the tree to the head.
