My biggest problem is math, and i really need help with this problem. Help would be greatly appreciated, please and thank-you. God bless. Question: Ryan is now three times as old as Sabrina. Let x = Sabrina's age
then from "Ryan is now three times as old as Sabrina" we get
3x = Ryan's age
.
Our formula comes from:
"Eight years ago Ryan was five times that of Sabrina"
3x-8 = 5(x-8)
solving for x:
3x-8 = 5x-40
-8 = 2x-40
32 = 2x
16 years old = x (Sabrina's age)

Ryan's age:
3x = 3(16) = 48 years
