Question 409832: Is the following word problem best described by a linear function or a non-linear function. I need to be able to reasonably explain my answer thoroughly.
A person's height as a function of a person's age (from age 0 to 100)

Non-linear. This is because a person usually doesn't grow any more in height after their 20's or 30's. A linear function would assume that the person continues growing in height at a constant rate.
