 TOM IS TWICE AS OLD AS DICK. HARRY IS 6 YEARS OLDER THAN TOM

Let x, 2x and (2x+6) represent dick's, tom's and harry's ages respectively

 Question states

 x +2x + (2x+6) = 31

Solving for s

  5x + 6 = 31

       5x = 25

         x = 5, dick's age.  tom is 10 (2*5)   and harry is 16  (2*5 + 6)



CHECKING our Answer

  5 + 10 + 16 = 31
