Peter is three times as old as Will. When Will will be twice as old now, Peter will be 72 years old. How old is Peter?
Let w = age of Will
3w = age of Peter

w years from now, Will will be twice as old now
Also, w years from now, Peter will be 72 years old
3w + w = 72
4w = 72
w = 18
3w = 3(18) = 54
Peter is 54 years old
