you want to put these in a math problem. Louise is 26. she is 4 times her daughter's age plus 2 (x represent the daughter's age)
that is 26=4x+2 rule=if you do it to the other side, you have to do it to the other side too.
so first you subtract 2 from both side 26=4x+2
-2 -2 the 2s cancel each other out
which is equal to 24=4x so then we want to get x by itself so we divided both side by 4 /4 /4
so 24/4= 6 and the 4s cancel each other out and x is by itself
so the answer is that her daughter is 6 years old.
