let Mary's age be x
Tom's age will be 2x
..
Three years ago tom was 11 years
Three years ago Tom was 2x-3
So 2x-3=11
2x=14
2x=14/2
x=7
Mary is 7 years today.
..
Tom was 11 years, 3 years ago
So tom is 14 years now
After 6 years Tom will be 20 years.
Mary is 7 years now so after 6 years she will be 13 years.
