Gary's age = x

16 years before they were married:
Rewena = x-2-16
Gary = x-16
2(x-18)=x-16
2x-36=x-16
x=20
20-2=18

Hence Gary was 20 years old and Rowena was 18 years old.

Rex's age = 3y+2-30
Mother's age = 3y
Father's age = 3y+2

Equation:
3y+2-30+3y=3y+2
6y-28=3y+2
3y=30
y=10

3(10)+2-30=2
3(10)=30
3(10)+2=32

3.Helston's age= x
Jason's age = 3x
In three years Jason's age= 3x+3
Three years of Helston's age = x+3
