Gary's age = x

16 years before they were married:
Rewena = x-2-16
Gary = x-16
2(x-18)=x-16
2x-36=x-16
x=20
20-2=18

Hence Gary was 20 years old and Rowena was 18 years old.

Mother's age = 3y
Father's age = 3y+2

3y+2-30+3y=3y+2
