Ann is 3 times as old as cousin Bob. Four years from now she will be one year more than twice as old as her cousin Bob will be then. What are their present ages?
------------
Equations:
a = 3b
(a+4)=2(b+4)+1
--------------------
Substitute for "a" and solve for "b":
(3b+4)= 2b+8+1
---
b = 5 (Bob's age now)
---
a = 3b = 15 (Ann's age now)
