Question 253023: jaime is now 35 years older than his son. in 5 years, he will be twice as old as his son. what are their present ages?
Answer by JimboP1977(311) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
J=Jaime's current age
S=Son's current age
J-35=S
J+5=2*(S+5)
Add 40 to both sides of J-35=S gives J+5=S+40
S+40=2(S+5)
S+40=2S+10
30=S
So J must be 65.
