Let daughter = x
Let mom = x+20
.
In 11 years mom will be 3 years less than twice her daughter's age.
So, in 11 years mom will be (x+20)+11 and her daughter will be x+11, right?
Therefore, the equation would be:
Now solve for x to find the daughter's age, then add 20 to find mom's age.

Equations:
w = d + 20
w+11 = 2(d+11)-3

Substitute for "w" and solve for "d":
d+20+11 = 2d + 22 -3
d+31 = 2d+19
d = 12 (age of the daughter Now)

Since w = d + 20, w = 32 (the woman's age Now)
