Peg=4
Rose=10
2(x+4)=x+10
2x+8=x+10
2x-x=10-8
x=2 years from now Rose will be twicw as old as Peg.
Proof:
2(4+2)=10+2
2*6=12
12=12

given:

Subtract from both sides
