brother=x age now
2x-4=3(x-4)
2x-4=3x-12
2x-3x=-12+4
-x=-8
x=8 is the age of the brother now.
boy=2*8=16 the age of the boy now.
Proof:
2*8-4=3(8-4)
16-4=3*4
12=12
