Question 230067: I need to translate each sum sentence into an equation. then find each number
Mary is 30 years old. this is 5 less than 7 times her son's age.
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = the son's age
7x-5 = Mary's age
Since Mary's age is 30,
7x-5=30
Add +5 to each side:
7x-5+5=30+5
7x=35
x=5 Son's age
7x-5= Mary's age
7*5-5= 35-5=30 It checks!!
