Step 1. Let x be the age of Aman's son.

Step 2. Let 4x be the age of Aman.

Step 3. Then x+4x=50 since the sum of both ages is 50.

Step 4. Solving yields the following steps.

Divide 5 to both sides of the equation

and and the sum of their ages is 50.

Step 5. ANSWER: The age of Aman's son is 10 years old.
