is directly proportional to , so:

If when then

, so:

So calculate the value of when you substitute

Presuming, of course, that you have a long enough inclined plane such that the ball won't have reached the bottom before 4 seconds have elapsed.

The distance(s) a ball will roll down an inclined plane is directly proportional
to the square of time(t).
If the ball rolls 5 ft. in 1 sec. how far will it roll in 4 sec.?
:
d(t) = 5t^2
if t = 4 sec
d(t) = 5(4^2)
d(t) = 5(16)
d(t) = 80 ft

D=kt^2,,,,,,,,directly proportional
.
5ft =k * (1sec)^2
.
k=5 ft/sec^2
.
D=5 (4)^2 =5*16=80 ft
.
