Let Phil be "x" yrs. old
Then Lee is "x+7" yrs. old

11 years ago DATA:
Phil was "x-11" yrs. old
Lee was x+7-11 = "x-4" old
---------------------------------
Equation (based on 11 yrs. ago DATA:
x-4 = 2(x-11)
x-4 = 2x-22
x = 18 (Phil's age NOW)
x+7 = 25 (Lee's age NOW)

Then = Phil's age now
= Lee's age years ago
= Phil's age years ago

Lee's age now is 25 and Phil's age now is 18

Let x represent Lee's age now. Then Phil is x - 7 now. Lee's age 11 years ago: x - 11 and Phil's age 11 years ago: x - 7 - 11 = x - 18, so:
