You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Karl's age: x
Jane's age: y
Karl's age in 6 years: (x + 6)
Jane's age in 6 years: (y + 6)

Now:
x=7y

6 years from now:
x%2B6=3%28y%2B6%29

Substitute the value indicated for x in the first equation into the second equation.

7y%2B6=3%28y%2B6%29

Solve for y to get Jane's age now, then calculate Karl's age using that information.
